- Fractures occurring after minimal trauma
- Monitoring of Osteoporosis proven by Bone Densitometry
Medicare Item 12313
- 1 service in every 12 months
- Prolonged glucocorticoid therapy (oral or high dose inhaled steroids)
- Excess glucocorticoid secretion
- Ovarian hypofunction (amenorrhoea > 6 months before age 45 years)
- Male hypogonadism
Medicare Item 12315
- 1 service every 24 months - Chronic liver disease
- Primary hyperparathyroidism - Chronic renal disease
- Proven malabsorption - Rheumatoid arthritis
- Excess thyroxine

- Significant change in therapy for osteoporosis
